Team Defiant

This team has to be one of the coolest things that I have ever seen. These guys bring an energy with them that is infectious. You can’t help but have a good time when you're around this team. On the field or off, they are always having fun and are willing to help. I learned this as I sat and talked to Spencer and McKenzie.

This Team is dedicated to helping the veteran. They want to see every VET that has a problem taken care of. This is done in a few different ways. They are most known for getting VETs that have mobility issues set up with a track chair. Funding for the chairs come from the Liberty Fund. This non-profit pays for the chairs and gets them to the VET at no cost to them. These chairs are a key part to getting VETs with mobility issues moving.

It allows a VET to go out shooting, hunting, playing paintball or just going out for a spin in the fresh air. This is also very important for their morale and independence. Dealing with the physical part is one aspect of Defiant. They help with the medical side of things and well as the mental. They have a great network of people that help VETs get going in a good direction. They do it with a lot of heart. As I spoke to them, I saw a drive that I have not seen in a long time. Team Defiant is doing right by the VETs. Spencer being a veteran, coupled with McKenzie’s medical knowledge gives them everything they need to get the job done right.
