And , this is true for the affluent , luxury traveler as well . However , this group also tells us that they are motivated by exploration ( 85 %) and the ability to experience different cultures ( 82 %). These are indicators that these travelers are seeking far more than the room amenities , superb service and cuisine available at the properties they stay . Instead , their interest is less in the property itself and more about using the hotel or resort as a conduit to the environment in which it resides . Thus , partnering with the local community , offering custom concierge programs and providing this affluent audience with an opportunity to build their currency of experiences with as little hassle as possible can be a powerful tool .
