THE FUTURE IS NOW | El Futuro es Ahora Computers and other technologies are powerful instructional tools. LUSD is ensuring that students and staff have access to state-of-the-art technology tools to enhance teaching and learning. The purpose of technology in Livingston schools is to support effective teaching, personalize student learning and create and facilitate authentic opportunities for students to routinely communicate, collaborate, create and think critically about their learning. One-to-one Computer Acquisition Plan LUSD is in its third year of a three-year implementation plan towards providing all students access to a tablet or a device in the classroom. Livingston Teachers Leading The Way… Teachers now have the opportunity to develop their own web pages. This provides teachers with an instructional tool that can more closely connect parents with their children’s classroom. LUSD teachers are working hard to develop a web page to post homework assignments, conference schedules, announcements, class and school calendars and reminders. Through the website parents and students can also be provided access to online resources with links to educational sites that are pertinent to students and parents. WE VALUE OUR STAFF | Valoramos a Nuestros Empleados Livingston Union School District values its staff and the important role they play in student learning. It’s a priority at LUSD to invest in ongoing professional development for its teachers and classified staff that supports student achievement. This school year, LUSD has ensured trainings on various subjects including training for the newly adopted language arts program, follow-up training on last year’s adopted math program, assessments, Instructional Rounds, special education and Science Unit Development. Furthermore, LUSD has also provided technology integration training to both certificated and classified staff. The district values the importance of positive school climate and culture; thus, staff has been receiving training on Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS). Trainings are also provided to support staff including academic clinicians, instructional aides, and tutors. We are very proud of our staff for their ongoing commitment to excellence! School Principal, Yamato Colony School | Directora de la Escuela Yamato Colony Alma De Luna is the new Principal at Yamato Colony school. Mrs. De Luna offers 19 years of successful job experience and most currently worked as a Title III Director in Merced County. School Principal, Livingston Middle | Directora de la Escuela Livingston Middle Victoria Bradshaw is the new Principal at Livingston Middle. She was the art teacher at Livingston Middle since 2004 and has served as summer school principal in the past. Director of Categorical Programs and Special Projects | Directora de Programas Categóricos y Proyectos Especiales Maria Torres-Perez is the new Director of Categorical Programs and Special Projects. Mrs. Torres-Perez has been with the district for 27 years holding various positions starting from classroom teacher to most recently as Yamato Colony Principal.
