Long Beach Jewish Life March, 2014 | Page 5

Welcome to our second issue! It seems as if the moment we finished working on our first issue, it was time to start in on this one. And I have to say, I couldn't be happier with the warm welcome Long Beach Jewish Life has received! So, first and foremost -- THANK YOU!

I became interested in publishing Long Beach Jewish Life because I felt strongly that the active, robust Greater Long Beach Jewish community deserved its own magazine, and -- to borrow a phrase -- if we built it, you would come. Frankly, I hadn't expected that the number of downloads of our inaugural issue would number into the thousands! But each of you has contributed to exceeding my most optimistic expectations.

I appreciate your vote of support, and I don't take your readership lightly. I've always viewed magazines as a sort of partnership between the publisher and the reader. You offer that most valuable of all commodities -- your time. And I honor your time with what I hope you will find to be worthwhile content. My commitment is to bring you the best mix of local personalities, news and events along with news from elsewhere in the Jewish world that you just might want to know about. So please keep reading! Email me at [email protected] me what you like, what you don't like, what could be better...and. most importantly -- please tell a friend!

Warm regards,

Jonathan Strum, Publisher
