STYLE + LEISURE TRIBUTE GOODS There’s more to TRIBUTE GOODS’ pillows than their beauty. Would you believe they are designed locally and support the arts, all while giving back to local nonprofits? Interior designer turned fine linen designer KAREN PULASKI has always had a penchant for art and charity. This, combined with her impeccable taste, was the perfect combination to launch her brand, Tribute Goods. The journey hasn’t been the easiest: “There are basically half a dozen fine linen companies that make a product of equal quality to what we produce,” Pulaski shares. “And the youngest has been in business for 40 years.” That’s an intimidating market to enter. But Pulaski has done it with style and grace. Many of the collections are collaborations with emerging artists, with 10% of profits going to organizations that support the arts, education and AIDS research. Tribute Goods’ first collection, The Elements, featured elements representing earth, air, water and fire, brought to life by native Texan artist NANCY RUBY. Next up is an online shop. Pulaski has trusted her instincts every step of the way in how Tribute Goods is represented and sold. A tribute to her vision. www.tributegoods.com By Carla Valencia de Martinéz Photography by Julie Soefer 64 L O C A L | september 16
