Cypress Creek Regatta Sets Sail September 17
The third annual sanctioned Cypress Creek Regatta, along one of Houston’s newest and
longest paddling trails, is back. It’s presented by the Bayou Preservation Association, whose
mission is to celebrate, protect and restore the natural richness of all of Houston’s bayous and
streams. Their vision is a network of healthy bayous, streams and watersheds.
The Cypress Creek Regatta offers a 7.5-mile stretch of beautiful water, allowing participants
to be surrounded by our city’s wildlife and scenic landscapes whether they are competing in
the Triple Crown Championship or looking to enjoy a family-friendly day of paddling.
Whether a novice paddler or an experienced kayaker, this event is sure to be a true Houston
experience.
After the race, guests will enjoy live music, food and drink vendors, and for the first time ever,
the Triple Regatta Championship awards will be presented to the winners of each class.
Want to race? For more information, please visit www.cypresscreekregatta.org or contact Bayou Preservation Association
Cypress Creek Regatta event coordinator, Rico Torres, at 713.538.7433 ext. 700, or e-mail [email protected].
