Revel in the majesty of the moon and the joys of the harvest as the Children ’ s Museum celebrates the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival . Explore Vietnamese and Asian culture as you strut your stuff in traditional Viet garb and compete to win prizes in the fashion show , watch lion dancers express their joy and happiness , create a lantern and carry it in a traditional parade , sample some delicious mooncake , and then capture a timeless keepsake at a photo booth !
Picasso The Line includes drawings from the most important periods of Pablo Picasso ’ s long career . It gathers close to 100 of his works on paper that span a wide range of mediums , from pen or pencil to charcoal and collage . The exhibition presents work from public and private collections in the United States and Europe , several of which have never been exhibited in the United States and others are seldom-seen examples in the Menil Collection ’ s holdings .
This group exhibition organized by HCCC Curatorial Fellow Sarah Darro investigates the dynamic intersection of craft and food in contemporary culture . Featuring six U . S . and international artists , the fields of craft and artisanal food are simultaneously experiencing revitalization amid a renewed embrace of handmade culture . The works in BEST IF USED BY investigate the entanglement of these worlds . Viewers are invited to examine the intersecting and diverging qualities of the displayed pieces , all of which possess a complex embodiment of tradition , specialized knowledge , process , culture and artistry .
