Year round in Houston , it ’ s always “ game on ” when it comes to professional sports . Baseball , football , basketball and men ’ s and women ’ s soccer can be enjoyed at the city ’ s four state-of-the-art sports facilities that have been built in recent years . Downtown , you ’ ll find a vibrant “ stadium district ” that includes Minute Maid Park ( Astros ), Toyota Center ( Rockets ) and BBVA Compass Stadium ( Dynamo and Dash ). Catch the game at any of these places , or at one of the nearby sports bars and watering holes that dot the district . To see the Texans play , you ’ ll have to head south on Main , past Rice , past Hermann Park , past the Medical Center , arriving finally at NRG Stadium , which just a few weeks ago hosted Super Bowl LI with great success . NRG is an indoor / oudoor venue with natural grass and a retractable roof .
