BRUNCH RUN IS NO JOKE
LOCAL Houston magazine is proud to be a sponsor of the Memorial Park Conservancy ’ s Annual Brunch Run , to be held on Saturday , April 1 . The family-friendly , four-mile run / walk begins at 8am on East Memorial Loop , south of Arnot , and continues west on Memorial Drive through the park , with a beautiful finish in the Picnic Loop .
All proceeds benefit the Memorial Park Conservancy ( MPC ), a private , nonprofit organization created to restore , preserve and enhance Memorial Park for the enjoyment of all Houstonians , today and tomorrow . MPC ’ s vision is to implement the principles of world-class park management and stewardship in partnership with the Houston community .
Registration for adults is $ 35 and includes a great commemorative shirt and entry to the Post Race Party . And , as they say , it ’ s fun for the whole family : There ’ s also a Kid ’ s 1K that begins at 7:30am . The registration fee of $ 10 includes one kid entry and shirt , plus one adult entry to the Post Race Party – featuring food and beverage vendors and live music .
So , lace up your shoes , grab your friends and family , and come out to support Houston ’ s largest urban-center park . With 1,500 acres for jogging , biking , tennis , hiking , picnicking and golf , Memorial Park sees about four million Houstonians as visitors each year . With your participation , the MPC ’ s work can continue so that the park will remain a wonderful natural oasis right in the heart of Houston .
