GOOD EATS STICKY’S CHICKEN $ Food Trucks, Chicken Wings 713.703.5230 | www.getstickys.com Man-oh-man, this place is the bomb. If you are in Houston, you have to give this place a shot. Located in Montrose most of the week, their food is made from sweet love. I’d recommend the egg on top and rice or sticks with extra sauce because it’s so awesome. The ppl are the nicest I’ve ever met and I didn’t even tip. I’ll tip for sure next time just to make it up. Will go again. Place is one of the best food trucks for sure! – Daniel F., Yelp BOWL CAFÉ $ Sandwiches, Vegetarian, Salads | 607 Richmond Ave. 832.582.7218 | www.eatatbowl.com I love this place! I have been here quite a few times, and I always order the same thing: a half pot roast sandwich with a salad. The mixed greens are always fresh, and it’s nice that you can pick all of your toppings. The salads are customized to be however you want them. All sandwiches come with tasty homemade chips. Today, I went in to order my usual. The owner informed me that he was out of pot roast. I was a little disappointed, but he suggested that I try the pulled pork. I’m glad I did because it was just as amazing as the pot roast. I will definitely be back, and I highly recommend this restaurant! –Kathleen J., Yelp CARNICERIA AGUASCALIENTES $ Mexican | 2809 Broadway St. | 713.641.4300 Gorditas de carne asada are the bomb.com – this is a place to come eat some fresh, fast and real Mexican food. I’m usually here about once or twice a week for the gorditas and tacos de trompo. If you want to add some spiciness, add some of their red salsa, but be careful once you do it ’cause it will make you cry. –Ivan T., Yelp CONSERVATORY $$ Food Court, Gastropub, Beer Garden | 1010 Prairie St. 713.398.7697 | www.conservatoryhtx.com I’m a huge fan! Think food court/cafeteria meets underground bar meets garden. There aren’t too many places where you can dine (on something other than bar food) AND drink (with more than 5 beer selections). The atmosphere is truly unique. Surrounded by plants, it feels like you’re outside without actually being outside – a smart decision, being located in Houston. Great beer selection with 50+ beers on tap, mostly local brews, and food options for all! None of the food places deserve 5 stars individually, but having so many choices is definitely a plus. It’s open late on weekends, so there’s now something other than mediocre pizza for your late night munchies. – Apoorva M., Yelp 26 L O C A L | july 16 FADI’S MEDITERRANEAN GRILL $ Mediterranean | 8383 Westheimer Rd. | 713.532.0666 www.fadiscuisine.com Has to be one of THE BEST Mediterranean restaurants in Houston. I usually get their vegetarian sampler – huge array of choices (which is rare for a Middle Eastern food joint, so this place is delightful) in dips, sides and salads. Their falafel and baklava are to die for! That aside, I love their hummus, tabouleh and warm pita bread! One & Only place to satiate my Mediterranean food cravings! – Preeti V., Yelp CRISP HEIGHTS $$ Italian, Wine Bars | 2220 Bevis St. | 713.360.0222 www.crisphouston.com This is my second time at Crisp’s and I’m definitely coming back! Last time I got the waffle chicken sandwich and truffle fries, and both were delicious. Today I got the Donut Burger and must say, Crisp’s chef had done a great job with the burger design as well as taste. You gotta love the combo of Angus beef, egg and bacon inside a doughnut! For dessert, I got their “Death by Brownie.” Nothing specta, but tasted pretty good! – Leon G., Yelp EL GRECO GREEK RESTAURANT $ Greek | 5420 Lawndale St. | 832.582.7918 www.elgrecollc.com This place puts Niko Niko’s to shame! It’s reasonably priced and absolutely delicious! The meat is tender and piping hot and the lemon butter potatoes are great! This is my new go-to Greek restaurant. New owner and better food from what I’ve heard. Check it out! – Priscilla G., Yelp FLIP ‘N PATTIES $ Filipino, Food Trucks, Asian Fusion |
