I eat at this place at least twice a week . They have great service and consistently good sushi rolls . I like to order the Philly with jalapeño , spicy tuna and spicy salmon . I normally order around lunch time and pay just under $ 20 for those 4 rolls . So compared to many other sushi places in town , I think the cost is great . It helps that they are located across the street from my office so I can walk there in no time . Overall , I am happy . They have earned my business over the past years so I hope to continue to eat there for many years to come .

Then you drive by and realize it ’ s a convenience store . In a really awkward area , with an awkward parking situation . In the middle of Montrose . And the famously popular Niko Niko ’ s is right around the corner , so why not just go there ? Why would anyone give this place a moment ’ s thought ??? Because … it ’ s a hidden gem ! I almost don ’ t want to write this review so I can keep it that way , but alas , I must do my duty and Yelp this place away . BEST shawarma I ’ ve ever had in Houston . BEST gyro . BEST ... a lot of things ! The fries are so light and crisp , perfectly fried . And not one fry is a sad straggler ! The fattoush is super-fresh . The Greek salad is loaded with olives ( I love olives , so ... yeah .). The hummus is great ! And it ’ s really hard to satisfy me – one who has been spoiled by what good hummus really is ! Now forget what it looks like from the outside and come in here , cuz as the saying goes , “ It ’ s what ’ s on the inside that counts .” Right ?

CAFÉ LILI LEBANESE GRILL $$ Middle Eastern | 5757 Westheimer Rd . | 713.952.6969 www . cafelili . com Oh so delish , from the yummy , crispy fried cauliflower , the perfectly flavored Foul Mudammas , to the rice pudding and baklawa , we couldn ’ t be happier . A friend sent us over and now we are calling all our friends to join us here for dinner next week ! We didn ’ t want to stop eating but they would have had to roll us out . But not before we had their complimentary cardamom coffee !! Thank you , Cafe Lili , for the best Mediterranean meal we ’ ve had in a long time !

Whew ! That ’ s a run-on sentence without a verb if ever there was one , but this place is marvelous and inspires enthusiasm . We had some of the best octopus I ’ ve ever had , reasonably priced wine and an amazing paella , not to mention a terrific garlicky shrimp dish . Between the four of us , we ate our way , tapas style , through the small plates and enjoyed every one . Don ’ t let the fact that it ’ s in a strip mall dissuade you ; it ’ s well worth a trip for both food and atmosphere . Wish I was back in Houston , so I could visit again !

He even hired a man who needed some work to hold a sign for lunch . When his shift was done , he fed him . This is classy . Food was amazing ! Raspberry drink , baked tortellini and spumoni ! It was delicious ! High recommendation !

The place is super-friendly , clean and SMOKE-FREE with awesome drinks and a very generous happy hour selection . The food is wonderful and cooked fresh upon order . I give the place 5 stars ; it really is worth your while to stop in and give Howie an opportunity to make you a wonderful refreshing drink using top-shelf ingredients . You will not be disappointed . This is one of the best places to stop in and have a drink and go home smelling fresh and clean . I really love the nice , cold A / C and smoke-free air feeling on a warm , muggy Gulf Coast afternoon , sipping a cold beverage in a nice peaceful setting .

The seafood and tofu soup was spicy and very flavorful . The service here is outstanding ; both the manager and our server were very accommodating and pleasant . Every time we come to Houston , we visit this restaurant .

The menu offers you your greatest challenge as you try and decide what delectable offering you are going to have . The wine list is basic , but fear not , as you can BYOB . To start off , I chose the mussels . I love seafood , and I was not disappointed . But I must say I NEVER have had mussels as BIG as oysters . The bowl was more than generous and a sight to behold . On a scale of 1 to 5 , I ’ d give them a rating of 8 – yes , off the charts . For my main dish I selected the Tenderloin Cannelloni . Served on a bed of polenta , this pasta and beef dish was to die for , truly a meal fit for a king . Looking for a restaurant with great food and professional and friendly service , look no more .
