The star our community recognizes today is very new to our faith. The story goes that a student at the Boys' School in Germany as a way to teach math and geometry. Te stars we know today usually have 25 or 26 points.
We now use them to represent the Advent, and many Salemites make them for our Christmas lovefeasts, and a larger 32 point star hangs in the doorway of the Home Church.
