REPORT OF INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CHAIR – LION
CHIP NEDZA, DG 18-N:
DG Nedza stated that the information on the Convention is the same
as at the last meeting. There is still no information on the
Southeastern Breakfast being hosted by Florida.
The Jamboree will be held on Sunday, June 28th, from 6:00 to 10:00
PM. This will be held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, which is where
the DGE will attend their school. All paperwork has been filled out
and sent in from the Multiple District to participate in the parade.
A. 2020 Atlanta International Convention Bid: PIP Jim Ervin stated
that he has spoken with PCC Richard Brown, and the bid for the
2020 International Convention has been submitted. This will be
distributed to Board Members for their perusal and vote at the Board
Meeting. There are five bids being studied.
REPORT OF MD 18 LONG RANGE PLANNING COMMITTEE
CHAIR – LION PDG MARK RICE:
The Long Range Planning Committee has distributed the survey
results to CC Olin. Hopefully these have distributed to the
appropriate committees and Lions so the information can be acted
upon to improve the events and services for the Lions of Georgia.
The Committee stands ready to assist with anything the Council
needs assistance with. Please let me know how we may be of
assistance. CC Newby encouraged Governors to share the results of
the survey with the Lions in their District.
REPORT OF MD 18 CHAIR, CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS
COMMITTEE – LION C. MARK MILLER, PCC:
PCC Miller stated that the Council has received three previous drafts
for the revision of the MD 18 Constitution and By-Laws. PCC Miller
stated that he has arranged for a conference that will be available for
members of the Council and the Vice District Governors, since this
will go into next year, together with the Constitution and By-Laws
Committee via a web conference. They will receive an invitation on
Monday to join in at 5:30 PM, February 16th for the conference. The
Committee will meet in conference prior to this, and then with the
Council and VDGs. They will go through the last revision provided,
which was the standard Constitution for a Multiple District, as the
Constitution and the standard constitution for a district as the ByLaws to that document. We will go through that with what else
should be added to make it a Georgia document.
REPORT OF STATE MAGAZINE EDITOR AND MD 18 LCIF
CHAIR – LION ED HASHBARGER, PDG:
PDG Hashbarger distributed copies of the latest Magazine. He stated
that he needs more information from the Governors to include in the
magazine. PDG Hashbarger asked Council and VDGs to try to find
someone willing to take on the position of State Magazine Editor.
PDG Hashbarger discussed LCIF. He stated that all clubs in the state
should donate to LCIF. He distributed a listing to the Governors of
which clubs have donated. Lion Ed will continue as LCIF Chair for
another three years. He would like to have 100% participation from
all clubs in the state. He needs two persons from each District to
serve on LCIF.
He distributed a listing of donations of clubs in each District. He
pointed out that there is no reason why a club cannot give $25.00 to
each of the four Georgia Lions initiatives: Lighthouse, Camp, LCIF,
and Leader Dogs. He asked each Governor to encourage donations to
all.
REPORT OF STATE LION TAMER AND INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGY CHAIR – LION RICK MIZELL, PDG:
CC Newby reported that Lion Mizell was unable to attend the
meeting this weekend due to work, however he is available to attend
the District Conventions, if asked.
REPORT OF MD 18 CENTENNIAL CHAIR – LION PDG
CATHY THREATT:
Lion Threatt stated that information on the program can be found at
lions100.org. The initial goal is to be able to serve one hundred
million by the end of the centennial anniversary. The table of
organization is on the website as well. The next service challenge is
the Environment program scheduled for April. She asked Governors
to please urge Clubs when they do their MMR reports to check any
