Lion Varnadoe reported that the VDGs had a great visit, but that it was even more outstanding when the Director of Leader Dogs stood up and said, “I am proud to report that the state of Georgia was 100% in club participation to Leader Dogs.” She stated that she is talking with someone else who may be willing to take over the position of MD 18 Representative to Leader Dogs. If the Governors have any recommendations of someone willing to serve, please let Lion Pam know. There will be another game this year. She asked for Governors’ participation and promotion of the program. She encouraged bringing youth groups to the game. PCC Miller stated that following the Forum on Sunday, Leader Dogs will have a bus tour from Grand Rapids over to Leader Dogs. This will offer a great opportunity to visit the Leader Dog School. CC Newby stated that every Council member agreed to get behind the ballgame and support this. CC Newby pointed out that PCC Bill Craig had addressed the Council last night, asking for support for the Capital improvements at the Leader Dog School. DG Nedza, 18-N, made a motion that Council sanction this capital campaign and offer their support and promotion of this renovation. DG Hubbard, 18-I, seconded this motion and motion carried.
