New Welch Allyn Spot Screeners
Lighthouse Staff took the time this month to make trips to all four district
conventions (Districts N, I pictured above respectively). You will notice in the
above District I convention; a fun Hawaiian theme was incorporated into the day’s
activities. Very special thanks to all Lions and Lighthouse Team who were able to
make it in support of the Lighthouse and thank you to all Lions Clubs for their
hospitality and service!
25 Million Kids Need You, So Get Involved Today!
Lions of the USA are pleased to announce Lions KidSight USA, a nationwide program to
safeguard the vision of children aged 6 months through 6 years.
This month, through collaboration with LCI’s KidSight
USA Program and the YMCA of Buckhead, the
Lighthouse was able to conduct vision and hearing
screenings on 65 children. 18 children were referred for
eye exams and 4 for hearing exams. Healthy vision and
hearing is crucial to the proper development in a child’s social skills and
educational achievements.
Lighthouse Staff and Lions from around the state visited the Lighthouse to get
certified on how to use our new Welch Allyn Spot Screeners. Screeners will be
used throughout the state to screen children and adults in need. These devices are
industry standard when it comes to conducting a vision screening on children.
However, a comprehensive eye exam by a doctor is still recommended even after a
screening.
A must watch for Lions.
