‘ Art Safari ’ was the theme of the 2016 Challenge Art Competition , open to all people with a disability in New South Wales . The winners were announced on December 14 at Ray Walsh House in Tamworth , with the top prize being won by Anthony Ray . Challenge CEO Barry Murphy said the calibre of the entries in the competition was some of the best to date .

Congratulations to Joshua Richards , from Adelaide ’ s south , for winning the annual CBS Amelia Rix Award on November 30 . Established in 2003 , the award was named in memory of the late Amelia Rix – a long-term participant of CBS ’ s Jobnet Employment Program . It recognises Jobnet participants with a disability who show a similar spirit to Amelia in finding and keeping a regular job in open employment . Runner-up was Iris Kameta , from the Riverland .
Adelaide Strikers player Kane Richardson and Novita kids Harper Keneally , Matteus Drosd , and Zashka Gunson gathered at Adelaide Oval on January 12 to celebrate a partnership between the Strikers and Novita Children ’ s Services . The partnership with the Strikers is helping to raise funds for Novita ’ s services for kids and young people living with disability , including the ConnectABILITY program which aims to get children with disability involved in sport .
