DK's Donuts and Bakery is located in Santa Monica, California. They had done an excellent job maintaining an up-to-date presence on Facebook, Yelp and Foursquare. In spite of that excellent work, the donut shop was not showing up on Yahoo! Local and a host of other sites. The business was listed by an old name, DK's Donuts, on most search engines and directories. Many engines and Directories had the wrong address. Also, the business' listings were not standing out, because they only contained the minimum data...Name, Address and Phone Number.
During the first week, CheckBox ran a Business Listings Scan to understand the scope of the challenge. Then we took control of the online business listings of DK's Donuts and Bakery. CheckBox worked with the merchant to collect a comprehensive set of authorotative business data. Then, CheckBox began the complex process of over-writing incorrect data across the Internet, adding to incomplete data, and providing a full data set where there was no business listing. Two weeks later we reviewed the initial results.
