Deanna Lee ' s work establishes a channel of communication between abstraction and reality : her pieces could be considered abstract as well as completely realistic in the way they “ record the residue of growth , change , and decay in ceilings , walls , and floors .” In her AWGP series , which we ' ll be discussing in the following pages , she captures the ambiguity between the real and the imagined with her use of a virtually universal visual language that triggers viewers ' perceptual parameters . One of the most impressive aspects of Lee ' s work is the way it accomplishes the difficult task of addressing how , in our contemporary age , viewers relate to a work of visual art ; her works draw viewers into an immersive , intense visual aesthetic to address the subjective experience of forms made by natural forces .
