For this special edition of LandEscape we have selected Metamorphosis , an interesting body of work that our readers have already started to get to know in the introductory pages of this article . We have highly appreciated the way Ms . Factor ’ s approach goes beyond a merely interpretative aspect of the contexts she refers to . As the late Franz West did in his installations , Metamorphosis reveals unconventional aesthetics in the way it deconstructs perceptual images in order to assemble them in a collective imagery , urging the viewers to a process of selfreflection . Would you shed a light about the role of metaphors in Ms . Factor ' s process ?
Metamorphosis developed over a period of years beginning in the 2000 ’ s . I believe it displays the zenith of her artistic growth ; at this point she harnessed some of her greatest strengths in all areas . You see a range of masterful color , combining rich jewel tones and strong contrast . The focus also transcends what used to be a more literal landscape , easily identified in the past , to a dynamic of forms that are suggestive of geographic space ,
