Gift of a Dark Room

This past year we were lucky to be able to preserve and pass on a complete dark room to a emerging photographic artist. The owner, Leroy Sanders of Wofford Heights, is at a point of transition in his life and unable to persue his treasured Art. Leroy, who was a student of Ansel Adams, spent many years traveling and making beautiful black and white photographs of landscapes and nature.

Chris Blevins Morrison was so pleased to have to opportunity to collect the dark room and made the trip from Santa Cruz with her amazing friend Photographer Anton Orlov. Anton traveles the country in a school bus he converted in to a mobile dark room. He had heard about us and insisted on assisting Chris with the pick up. Lucky for him, he scored some hard to find developer. We managed to pack everything up tightly into the minivan she borrowed from her parents and after a short visit they were off.

She has been making great progress with her large format equipment and if you friend her of facebook you can see some amazing photographs. Here is a link to view some of Leroy Sanders amazing, haunting photographs.
