Kent Gateway Message from the panel We’ve recently been focusing on how we engage with young people. At the last panel meeting we looked at what we’ve achieved so far. We also spoke to a young person from the area about what we can do to remove barriers. This is a key priority for us, so watch this space for further progress! The panel has also continued to work with staff to drive a high quality of service to residents. Finally, we’ve spent a long time planning our upcoming summer events. We hope to see you there! Next meeting Tuesday 16 August 6pm – 8.30pm Strode Crescent Baptist Church, Sheerness. Get involved! If you’d like to help us improve services, come along to one of our taster sessions to find out about the different involvement opportunities. There are options to be involved from the comfort of your own home or you can get out and about at one of our forums or even join the Area Panel. Speak to the Resident Involvement Team on 0800 121 60 60 to find out when our next taster session is and book yourself a place. A fun day for all We held a fun day event in June at Edenbridge Drive in Sheerness. Despite the weather we had a great afternoon! Residents of all ages joined us and Ladybird Children’s Centre to have some fun on the smoothie bike, popcorn machine and bouncy castle. We also spent time talking to local residents about their neighbourhood and what we could do to improve it. Look out for more exciting events over the summer, fingers crossed for better weather! 12 News&Views | www.amicushorizon.org.uk
