FRÉDÉRIC
ROULLET
K-oodi Magazine is proud to present a
stunningly beautiful photo series
titled 'L'éclosion d'Osiris' ('Osiris
Blooming') by a talented French
photographer Frédéric Roullet, a.k.a
Frt Photo. While "the torturer" doesn't
consider that his job is to make
people look beautiful, his images
certainly are. Interview by Kimmo Matias.

Tell us a bit about your background?
My name is Frédéric Roullet, a.k.a. "Frt Photo". As a
photographer, my path has been rather unusual.
Like many photographers, I started to look for
references, creations, themes. I used to gravitate
towards things that seemed to be good to me, and
some other very trite things. Much later in my path,
I met a friend of mine, a choreographer called Paco
Décina, who introduced me to the world of
contemporary dance. That blew me away. The
movement, the body and the light were factors that
raised my creativity as well as my artistic
awareness. That then showed me the way.
Are you self-taught or do you have professional
training?
I am a self-taught photographer. I didn't attend a
photography school. Yet, I started to question my
photos for a while. I thought I lacked technique. So,
I did a couple of trainings at Paris Nikon School.
Thanks to Gérard Planchenault, a trainer at Paris
Nikon School, and to internships in Paris, New York
and even in Rajasthan, I learnt that technique was
not everything. It certainly brings basic knowledge
