"Two years ago, I started series of paintings called 'Icons'. It was my homage to great talent and people
that changed the world of art, science, music, movie, literature... I painted these portraits inspired, and
by using the technique of actual iconography and Byzantine art, in traditional manner - egg tempera on
wood, but I also added recognizable pop art coloring. During this time, I painted over fifty 'Icons'. Some
of them are Jimi Hendrix, Nikola Tesla, Albert Einstein, Picasso, Hitchcock...
In a multitude of great minds and exceptional artists, David Bowie is the one I painted four times, each
time with passion and inspiration.
I have admired this remarkable man and his creativity since my early childhood. Artist. Musician. Actor.
Painter. He will be missed."
