Teddy Riner (FRA) and Kayla Harrison (USA) became double Olympic champions.

3 Olympic Medals
Teddy Riner (FRA) and Rishod Sobirov (UKR) won their third consecutive Olympic medal in Rio. Sobirov is retiring, so this was it for him but Riner could get his fourth medal in Tokyo 2020.

The Young Ones
The youngest medalists were Ami Kondo (JPN), Odette Giuffrida (ITA), Fabio Basile (ITA) and Mashu Baker (JPN) – all were just 21 years of age when they won their medals.
