A Family of Support
THE LONGO FAMILY HAS BEEN A LONG-TIME SUPPORTER OF JOSEPH BRANT HOSPITAL. SEVERAL
MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY WERE BORN AT OUR HOSPITAL, AND TERESA LONGO HAS FOR YEARS
BEEN MAKING HOLIDAY VISITS TO THE HOSPITAL DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON BRINGING GIFTS
TO THOSE SPENDING THE HOLIDAYS AWAY FROM THEIR FAMILY.

The generosity of the Longo family was at the heart of
the Longo`s Family Charitable Foundation Community
Matching Gift Challenge. All gifts made to the Our
New Era Campaign from September to December 31,
2015 were matched dollar-for-dollar by Longo’s up
to $500,000. And thanks to the inspiration from the
Longo family and the support of the community, and
we had $1 Million reasons to celebrate.
“Our family has been long-time supporters of the
Joseph Brant Hospital Foundation from the early days
when JBH was a small, community-based hospital and
we were just a small fruit stand on Plains Road,” said
Rosanne Longo, Chair of the Longo’s Family Charitable
Foundation. “We are so pleased that the community

responded to our matching gift challenge in such a
positive way. Thank you to all those who joined with us
in helping families experience the best healthcare close
to home.”
The philanthropy of the Longo’s Family Charitable
Foundation represents a legacy of commitment and
investment in our communities that began with the
founders of Longo’s who believed in giving something,
even when they had nothing to give. They believe that
family values are essential to community growth and
by investing in and maintaining a leadership position
of community involvement, they will help ensure the
health and well-being of our communities will be
sustained for years to come.
