The DHA

It has been a long time coming, but the Defense Health Agency is up and running and already producing results. Lieutenant General (Dr.) Douglas Robb is the first and new director of this program and has commented on the cost saving ability the agency has already proven to produce. The DHA manages: “standardized medical practices, six multiservice markets, and 10 shared services”. The goal of this program is to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the military’s medical services, while reducing costs. The DHA wants to cut down on redundancy which will get rid of a lot of waste in the working healthcare professionals’ day to day activities. It also wants to focus on using joint forces. The DHA states that the use of joint forces during this war has been highly useful and used as a resource more successfully than ever before.
