Insensitive JMC, Advertisers,
Making Mockery of
Martyred Soldiers

When
Major
Ajay
Singh Jasrotia attained
martyrdom in Kargil the
road outside his native
home in posh Gandhi
Nagar
area
was
renamed and Jammu
Municipal Corporation
had installed a sign
board.
In the recent years
though the Indian army
has been organising
Vijay Diwas in Kargil to
honor the martyrdom of
brave soldiers but the
civil authorities here in
Jammu have made
mockery of his martyrdom.
The insensitive general masses and advertisers who chose to paste
bills and posters on the
sign board, where his
name has been written,
have been rubbing salt
on the wounds of the
near and dear ones of
the martyred soldier by
showing disrespect to
his name and valor.
Ironically, for last couple of days Jammu
Municipal Corporation
has been focusing on
polishing its own image
in the eyes of the city
denizens.
In doing so the JMC
authorities have raised
king size hoardings to
communicate with local
population.
Hoardings with pictures of Ministers and
slogans on highlighting
the importance of civic
amenities were also
raised at vantage locations to spread the message among the masses.

JMC authorities have
deliberately ignored the
real heroes and none of
the senior functionaries
who claim to spend
maximum time in the
field trying to feel the
pulse of the masses
