• Interceptions: If a quarterback throws the ball, a defensive player can try and reach that ball first and either push it away from the intended player (causing a restart back at the previous line of scrimmage) OR catch the ball cleanly (which turns the game over and means the defensive team becomes the offensive team and restarts on the edge of their end zone). • Blocking: Defensive players can try and block the runs of the offensive players before they receive the ball (without any grabbing or hard contact). • Touchdown: A touchdown is scored when an offensive player catches the ball and carries the ball into the end zone OR catches the ball when standing in the end zone.
