Athletic Trainers
Initiative
Girls Flag
Coaches Clinic
Highschool Player of
the Week
In a groundbreaking program,
the Jaguars Foundation
partnered with the NFL,
Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program, Duval County
Public Schools, Jacksonville
University and other partners
to embark on an ambitious
initiative to provide all 17
public high schools with fulltime athletic trainers within
four years. We are currently
in our second year and have
staffed 7 schools with a full
time athletic trainer.
The Jacksonville Jaguars
along with Fuel Up to Play
60 held the inaugural Jaguars
Girls’ Flag event which
hosted 200 female athletes
from the greater Jacksonville area. The players also
participated in an interactive
character development session featuring guest speaker,
Dr. Jennifer Welter, who was
the first female to break into
an all-male team sport, the
NFL. She was the first female
running back in the game
for the Revolution, the first
female linebacker and special
teams coach and the first
female to coach in the NFL
for the Arizona Cardinals.
Jacksonville Jaguars Head
Coach Gus Bradley hosted
the 2nd Annual Jaguars High
School Coaching Clinic. This
clinic is designed for Jaguars
coaching staff to share core
fundamentals of the game
of football with local high
school football coaches.
Each week during the high
school football season
one local student athlete
is chosen to be the High
School Player of the Week for
his efforts on the football
field. With a number of local
talented high school athletes
the winner is chosen strictly
based off their stats. The
Jaguars award each athlete
that is chosen with the
opportunity to come to a
Jaguars’ home game with a
parent while meeting current
and former Jaguars players on the field pre-game.
Thanks to our sponsors,
Buffalo Wild Wings, who provide each winner a free year’s
worth of wings, and Baker
Sporting Goods who provide
each winner a duffle bag and
a plaque.
