Within a couple of years I began to have a constant
problem with borderline high blood pressure. I
was also diagnosed with high cholesterol. This was
about the time I began to notice a lot more aches
and pains. I commented many times in my early
30’s that I began to wonder not if I would hurt
when I woke up, but instead what would hurt.
During my early to mid 30’s I went through about a
six week period of wearing out after about 4 hours
at work. I would have to lay my head on my desk
and sometimes would have to get about 30 – 45
minutes of shut eye to be able to make it through
the rest of the day. This was making my employer
wonder about me. Even the other employees were
concerned that I was doing drugs.
Joyce: Did you seek the advice of a doctor?
Dean: Yes, I went back to the doctor and he did
some blood work. He said my blood sugar was
high and that I was border line diabetic. He did
a 6 – 8 hour sugar test and I was told that the
numbers still showed me border line, but not high
enough for meds. When I asked about the extreme
tiredness and if it was related I was told probably
not and it was most likely just a virus, he said it just
