Sandton was opened and started fully functioning
in August 2013. The centre with its beautiful overarching trees, thatched roofs and genteel
atmosphere capture all those who enter.
The primary function of the institution is to create
an all-inclusive, holistic environment of performing
arts and educational training in Vedic theology
and its application in a modern day setting. Each
month we see an increase in membership, a more
active congregation and a heightened increased
in preaching. To date, we have achieved the
following:
Food for Life: distributed 150 000 plates of
Prasadam in 10 months to schools, orphanages
and old-age homes. ISKCON Sandton distributes
fresh Prasadam to 7 of 22 schools in Alexandra with
the aim of feeding all 22 schools daily.
Book distribution: distributed over 5000 books and
received 100 Back to Godhead magazine
subscribers.
Communication: Database has over 1000
subscribers and over 3300 Facebook friends that
receive feeds weekly.
