The Main Programmes

Monday Meditation Circle – an
outside kirtan on the campus
lawn, where a free meal is served
to students.
The Good Life – a student
wellness seminar that presents the
basics of a spiritual lifestyle to
students in a relevant way,
focusing on topics such as time
management, healthy living and
cultivating
the
mode
of
goodness, and the importance of
meditation and spiritual practices
for true wellbeing.
Food for Thought – an evening
program with kirtan, a class on
the Bhagavad Gita and a big
feast.
WildSPYS – nature hikes to the
waterfalls
and
mountains
surrounding
Stellenbosch,
for
picnic and kirtan.
Each of these regular programmes is
attended by between 20 and 30 students
on a weekly basis.
Other programmes are special events
that are held once or twice a year. These
include:

Cultural festivals such as Buddha
Fest or Gaura Fest, a stage show
presentation of dance,
performance arts and drama on
spiritual themes, drawing a crowd
of between 80 – 100 people.
Weekend Meditation Retreats, for
small groups of 20 to 30 students.
A yearly retreat to India, where
we take a group of 10-12 people
on a 3 week trip to Vrindavana
and
Mayapur
over
the
December holidays.
14 new devotees have joined from the
Stellenbosch in the last 7 years (10 of
them joined after 2011). Seven have so
far received Harinama initiation.
