TAKE 147
“Nothin’ To Lose”
By Kiki Plesha
Currently making a “rockful’ noise in Central Pennsylvania
and capturing the ears—and attention—of this fairy-turnedfan is the all-female group TAKE 147. Originally begun as a
three-piece band by GRETTA ZECHMAN (rhythm guitar, piano,
lead vocals), AMBER GRUNDEN (bass and vocals) and PATTY
WILSON (drums and vocals) in 2005, Take 147 has evolved in
the usual manner that so many groups do in their formative
years. And it’s been “steady as she goes” as the band enjoyed
local success--all while going through various changes in
their personnel. This eventually led to them seeking the right
“fit” for that final cog in the wheel…a kick ass guitarist. Enter
ROCHELLE SMITH (lead guitar and vocals) in 2010--bringing
an energy and an ‘edge’ to the mix. That wheel is fired up and
now churning out Take 147’s first CD, “Nothin’ to Lose”, with their
final and solidified lineup.
Take 147 began its journey as a cover band, but soon, heard that “creative call to arms” to tackle the
original market. The fruition of their collaborative efforts is their first album “Nothin’ to Lose”, just
released in June of this year. And the industry is taking notice of Take 147—having opened for ADEMA,
FUNNY MONEY, MUSHROMHEAD and most recently, BRET MICHAELS. Throughout it all, Take 147
continues to promote their music and expand their horizon--along with their fan base--whom they
affectionately refer to as “Takers”. But first, let’s meet the ladies of Take 147…
