Music by SILVERTUNG “Coming Alive” Rawkin’ Interview with Story and Photography by JP Rawk Baltimore bad boys, SILVERTUNG, took some time out for me and ION Indie Magazine. As our conversation carried on, I honestly thought that they were going to throw us out of the venue--as we kept it going as they were locking the doors and closing up shop. However, when you have things to ask, and the band has things they want to say, it’s worth it. This is, after all, their turn to shine as bright as possible. JP: 2014 has seen SilverTung hit new markets--what is your favorite? What do you feel is the market, THE SCENE to be in right now? Skoot: FM radio is still relevant, but as far as where we travel, where we go, Michigan and Ohio are a lot of fun. Speed: Joplin is great too. Joplin, Missouri. Skoot: They like original music. Speed: Honestly, I would say anything from Florida to Texas, up through the Midwest and even Philly and New York were good to us. We had a blast there. That’s a tough scene to be in. Skoot: Philly is tough…. JP: Categorizing your music… Skoot: People think we’re heavier than we are. People think we are some sort of a “Screamo" Metal band, but we’re so totally not. We have three part harmonies. We’re a Hard Rock band. Undoubtedly, we’re a Hard Rock band. Danno: We are such a versatile band. We can play one style and jump to the next and kind of fit in anywhere. Skoot: BUT we still don’t play that scream stuff….we just don’t. JP: You guys have been around for a number of years. Speed: 8 years.
