A newer version of their song “Circles”—which incorporates Reggae and Rap--was recorded with the “Big Band” in February 2014 for their new CD “The Williams Brothers Band Live at the Mesa Theatre”. I have watched their children grow up, and had the honor of hosting James and Phil for a live unplugged session where I work, at a radio station. Phil has a lot of strength and speed when ripping through chords, and James is the voice, guitar and band leader. Let’s find out a little more about The Williams Brothers. YD: At what age was your first public performance? James: My first show was 9-22-90...It was an overnight camping "birthday party" for my friend and I who had the same birthday on that date, September 22nd. Hence, the name of our group "922". It was us and 900 of our "closest" friends doing what teenagers do without adult supervision. At the time, we were very deeply involved in THE GRATEFUL DEAD, so this party was kind of a precursor to the jam band festival type
