After tearing through some classics, such as “Enemy of an Open Mind” and “Caligula”, singer JOE KARAVIS took the time to speak directly to a fan and dedicate the next song, “Fields of Honor”, to that fan. The band then ripped into one of the most amazing Metal instrumentals I’ve ever heard. Such an incredible piece that really captivated this listener. Being a former dabbler in bass playing, I was really blown away by the groove that bassist, CHUCK DONAHUE and drummer, JOHN JESUELE were laying down. I’m not sure if this is a standard, as it was a fan request that night, but it should be if it isn’t. If you’ve seen Beyond Fallen before, one standout difference from the last four years is the departure of legendary guitarist BUTCH FRABLE on lead. Settling right in to that position, is a young PHENOM named GREG BACZMARGA. Beyond Fallen is Greg’s FIRST band, and having to step into the shoes of such an amazing shredder as Frable can NOT be an easy task. This particular show was only the seventh show that Greg had played lead with them--but you’d NEVER know it. His playing is that of a guitarist well beyond Greg’s years.
