ION INDIE MAGAZINE August 2014, Volume 3 | Page 4

Music by THE SLIGHTLYS “Mask of Lies” This fairy is “sky high” (wings help!) after the warm reception by our readers for the inaugural June Issue—only to be surpassed by the ripple made in the publishing pond by our July edition. Thank you to our growing readership and the talented artists we have featured that make our articles so compelling. Our featured band for August is ANOTHER LOST YEAR. ION Indie Magazine’s own JP RAWK (JERE PERRY) hits us between the eyes with his in depth interview with ALY’s CLINTON CUNANAN. I’m confident you’ll find it both informative and entertaining! ION was on hand to join in the festivities at the TEMPE CENTER FOR THE ARTS for the EPIC MUSIC STORE ANNIVERSARY SHOW. Managing Editor/Photojournalist JB BRIDGES and I took in the “Epic Music Store Anniversary Show”…and what a night it was! Four talented Metal/Rock bands (DEATH AWAITS, JERRY ROBISON PROJECT, TRICUS and ST. MADNESS) took the stage and treated us to a party in our ears! Two music students of our host GEORGE CONTRERAS were also given their moment to shine while joining the band TRICUS on stage. I am pictured at left with 12 year old LIZETTE BLANCAS--a young shredder on the rise! Read all about this EPIC extravaganza in this issue! We are delighted to report that many of the artists we have featured are now receiving airplay after being added to the rotations of our broadcast affiliates worldwide! This is especially rewarding—as it is in keeping with our vision to get Indie music both read about and HEARD! A big FRM “Thank you!” and “two wings up” to our broadcast affiliates for making dreams come true for our artists! And, as always…kudos to our amazingly talented writers, without whom, none of this would be possible! We are grateful to our promotional partners that support our initiative, and we are proud to welcome some new members of the ION family: TBAIMS, THE FYRE AND ICE SHOW and LOCAL TALENT CONNECT. Also, we are now promotionally partnered with an obscure little entity by the name of REVERBNATION! ReverbNation artists can now submit for consideration to ION Indie Magazine through the RN site. Each month, one RN artist will be selected for valuable media coverage in our publication. Thank you to LOU PLAIA for the opportunity…we look forward to working together supporting independent artists worldwide! Kiki Plesha CEO/Editor-in-Chief The Fairy Rock Mother ION Indie Magazine
