Of course, there may be some of
you out there who simply want to
detox and recharge your batteries,
away from the hussle and bussle
of your everyday life, you literally
just want to step out and regroup.
This can be done as a solo retreat,
with a partner or a small group of
friends, whatever your situation
a retreat can be prepared to suit
your needs. You just need to take
that step.
For me, one of the biggest issues
people have, whatever their
situation is their diet. So often
people skip meals, too busy to
stop and actually sit down and eat,
or find themselves simply walking
around a supermarket and buying
the same things each week,
which, in itself is boring and quite
honestly, does not stimulate the
mind at all. You need to view food
shopping as an important part of
your life. What is in season? What
are you drawn too? Once you
start listening and understanding
your body you will be amazed
at the foods you are drawn too.
Suddenly food shopping and food
preparation becomes stimulating.
You are feeding your mental and
emotional wellbeing by eating
well. It really is that simple.
It is for this reason, that I would
personally recommend the Raw
Food Retreats. Before you worry
that the idea of living on raw foods
simply does not sound practical, let
me point out that just introducing
a few raw options each week
will help make a difference. The
more you learn and understand
about raw foods the more you will
begin to include. It is a process,
but the proof is in how you feel
after a raw meal. You will feel the
difference. These are the two tools
of encouragement when it comes
to food.
What is important when switching,
or incorporating raws into your
diet, is understanding nutrition.
Raw foods is not just a plate of
salad everyday, there is so much
more to it, and you will be amazed
at what you can prepare, but it
helps to have knowledge and
guidance to assist you. Simple
things, like how to set up your
kitchen, equipment that you may
need and most importantly, how to
prepare a balanced, nutritious and
healthy meal.
By the time you leave you will have
the answers to:What are superfoods and do I
need them?
When do I have a smoothie and
when is juice better?
Where do I get my calcium and
protein and why dairy is not the
answer?
What is fermenting, how do I do it
and why is it so important?
What is a dehydrator and what is
it used for?
Staying healthy on raw; what are
the things you must have in your
diet?
How to stay warm on raw food in
the winter.
Home sprouting and which are the
most nutritious sprouts. The latest
scientific data on specific sprouts
for certain health issues.
Breakfasts,
lunches,
snacks,
sauces and dressings, main
meals, desserts, chocolate and so
much more.
You will find a recipe within this
issue that you can try, but the
biggest thing that stands out with
raw foods is the fact that you can
see it is healthy, you can see it
is nutritious and you know it is
going to be good for you. Part of
the digestive process is being
stimulated by what you see, it kick
starts your system ready to digest
your food.
Do take a look at the website, you
have it all here. A choice of specific
retreats, the option to create your
own and of course, you are in some
of the most stunning landscapes
that the UK has to offer.
This is a change to heal your mind,
body and spirit.
