R & D is usually supported directly by customers
Attention to detail is a strength of the Palfinger Epsilon R & D team hauling . The logging crane with a net slewing torque of around 50 kNm delivers a reach of 9.4 m and a lifting torque of 229 kNm at 250 bar working pressure . At its maximum reach , a sizeable weight of 2,325 kg can be hung from the crane boom tip .
A longstanding partnership was also formed with Rottne Industrie , one of the world ’ s biggest CTL ( cut-to-length ) timber machinery manufacturers . At the launch of the new F11D forwarder , Rottne announced that the Rottne RK85 and RK125 double-telescope cranes would now be fitted with telescopic booms from the Austrian manufacturer .
For Rottne , the reasons for this decision are obvious : “ Epsilon has impressed us with its extremely high quality … alongside with delivery reliability and innovative

system are simply outstanding ,” says Tobias Johansson , Rottne Product Manager .
Service – the key to success “ It ’ s not enough to break new ground in the timber haulage industry with products alone – we ’ re also developing new ideas for serviceability and customer proximity ,” Epsilon stated .
Epsilon employees do not shy away from even the harshest operating conditions , as the service team demonstrated during a training tour in Finland . The maintenance conditions for these special local requirements were discussed and demonstrated in extreme temperatures as low as -31 ° C .
The experiences gained here are already being incorporated in series developments to benefit all users .
To provide customers with expertise , tips and tricks for practical applications involving the timber loader cranes , Epsilon is actively supporting MAN ’ s Profi Drive Training , which is going on tour in 2017 .
Using the customer ’ s own equipment to provide the bestpossible preparation for everyday work , the new training program aims to instruct participants in specific areas including costeffectiveness , driving safety and load securing .
The first segment-specific training was held on November 18 last year at the MAN Truck & Bus testing ground in Munich for hauliers from UPM . Palfinger Epsilon also took part with its own practical training program .
The company will continue to seek “ practical innovations and superior quality ” in manufacturing in 2017 .
