production while also reducing fuel consumption .
Proven cab and crane concept All the harvesters have parallel cranes with high net lifting force that are fast , effective , and easy to operate . The crane design ensures a more energy efficient crane cycle , compared to the knuckle boom crane .
The harvesters are built on the well-proven concept of a centrallyplaced crane and cab and a swing axle that , together with the cab ’ s tilt cylinders , offers unique stability and operator comfort . The cab enjoys much better upward and downward visibility , 360 ° of cab / crane rotation , and low noise levels .
Optimal manoeuvrability “ Optimal manoeuvrability in difficult terrain is key for a harvester to be truly productive ,” Komatsu stated . The Komatsu harvesters offer several important features when it comes to terrain mobility .
One factor is how the engine interacts with the transmission system , which automatically adapts to changes in engine load due to terrain , obstacles and inclines . The system automatically increases torque , and thereby traction , just before the machine reaches maximum capacity . As a result , the harvesters can clear obstacles with considerably greater ease than machines with traditional hydrostatic transmission systems , while fuel consumption is reduced .
A crane with high slewing torque and a machine with high ground clearance are equally important for high productivity in steep and difficult terrain . Komatsu harvesters have a unique tilt function that gives the cab and crane a large tilt angle and thereby a high slewing torque in steep terrain . Komatsu Comfort Bogie , with its wellmaintained balance and integrated portals , helps provide very good ground clearance and mobility in rough terrain .
The Komatsu harvester line up with 6WD is the Komatsu 901 , which is a thinning specialist , the Komatsu 911 , which is an all-round harvester , the Komatsu 931 , for demanding final logging , and the Komatsu 951 , which is the largest and most powerful harvester , all launched in 2014 . In 2016 the Komatsu 931XC was launched , an 8WD harvester
with low ground pressure and great stability – perfect for extreme conditions .
Komatsu harvesters have a number of technical attributes that contribute to making the machines powerful , productive and energy efficient .
3PS – powerful hydraulics To ensure that operators have the right conditions for effective production , the harvesters have a
powerful 3-pump hydraulic system . It provides unique interaction between the crane , the head functions , and the transmission and enables the operator to use high flow rates at low engine RPM while the transmission circuit is always available to move the machine . The clever design of the hydraulic system means that the operator can perform several functions at the same time and maintain a considerably higher
