LUMBER PROCESSING
SAWLINES – STENNER

Stenner gears up for another big year

The UK-based company has a strong order book going into this year
A great 12 months over 2016 was built on innovative thinking from the band resaw specialists

Stenner enjoyed a very good 2016 with a number of complete lines supplied to the UK and Irish markets .

Recent developments in the area of automatic setting of the dimension of the lumber have allowed the company to produce lines that combine horizontal and vertical saws , which are all capable of angle cutting such that the owner can produce almost anything a market would require .
The automatic setting systems move the saws , via electric motors , to the correct height and angle at the touch of a single button via a selection of pre-set values . The system was developed for a client
in Scotland who has a line of six MHS10 ( 42 in pulleys ) Horizontals followed by a vertical VHET120 ( 48 in pulleys ) Twin resaw .
“ Set up time has been reduced from 10-20 minutes to a couple of minutes with excellent accuracy ,” says Stenner CEO Syd Mather .
Long-term customer Philip Blake of Munro Sawmills had this to say about his Stenner experience : “ We have been using 12 Stenner MHS10 Bandsaws for 12 years cutting at 60 m / minute for 10 hours a day .
“ Downtime has been minimal and where parts have been needed Stenner have been helpful and not expensive . Cutting accuracy is
excellent .
“ The Stenner line is the heart of our sawmill and it has performed consistently well for many years . We have recently decided to invest in a further six MHS10 saw units to extend our capability and have taken advantage of Stenners recent developments in the area of automatic setting of the height and angle of the saw units , inverter drives for the pulley rotational speed and spray lube systems for the application of lubricant for the sawblades and pulleys .”
Another long-term Stenner Client added a new line recently and he too was very vocal about the result .
Stenner had a big 2016
