CLUB TROPICANA’S BACK WITH A BANG – THIS TIME WITH TWO ROOMS!
It’s back! Throw off your cashmere and grab a
flamingo for a totally tropical Christmas party
by the sea…
Not your average Christmas party, Funk The
Format presents a truly tropical night of flamingos,
funk, lilos, latin and much, much more. Going
against the traditional festive grain, once again,
Funk The Format’s Club Tropicana will transport
you to a balmy beach party for just one night.
Squint a little, and Hove may just become Hawaii.
Following two sell-out Club Tropicana events,
this year Funk The Format opens a second room
to accommodate more party people. DJs playing
a tutti-frutti mix of funk, soul, disco, hip hop,
house, Latin and even a little jungle in the jungle
include: Soul Casserole, Balearic Mike, Sophie
Callis, Nick Maxwell, Odyssey, Steve Seck and
Funk The Format’s founder, Lucy ‘Elle J’ Small.
Plus there’s a giant fancy dress box, Tropicana
photo-booth, glitter body painting, the ‘Big
Dance Off’ and the annual ‘best dressed’
competition to look forward to in which there’s
a coveted golden pineapple to be won.
Tickets: from £13.50 at www.skiddle.com.
HAWES BUILDING HOLDS EVENT TO CELEBRATE OPENING NEW OFFICES
Hawes Building Ltd, contractors covering East Sussex and the South
East for both domestic and commercial new builds and renovations,
celebrated the opening of their new offices in Polegate High Street
recently with an event to which their customers and contacts were
invited. Guests were given a tour of the building, which was previously
a bank, and were able to view the high-security vault and safe where
money and other items of value were stored. Attendees included
architects, structural engineers, project managers, interior designers and
material suppliers.
Hawes is another Sussex success story, the new premises being required
to house an expanding team, as well as providing meeting and storage
facilities. Having only started just over three years ago, recent projects
have included work at the Shepham Wind Farm, on high-end executive
houses near Uckfield, refurbishment works at Crawley Hospital, work at a
school in Shoreham, and structural work at a supermarket in Rye.
Hawes Building Ltd is owned and managed by Bruce and Sarra Hawes,
both of whom previously worked for Llewellyn’s in Eastbourne, which is
where they met. Bruce had worked his way up to contracts manager and
Sarra was the company’s first female site manager. “We are really pleased
to take the opportunity of our expansion to have a presence on the high
street where customers and potential clients can pop in and to raise
awareness of Hawes,” said Sarra.
Hawes also used the occasion of the opening event to announce the
formation of a new division, Hawes Diamond Drilling. With significant
experience in concrete cutting, sawing and drilling, Bruce and Sarra
have formed a new specialist arm to offer this service across the South
East and into the London area. Visitors are very welcome to pop into the
new Hawes Offices at 41 High Street in Polegate. Alternatively, further
information can be found at either www.hawesbuilding.co.uk and
www.hawesdiamonddrilling.co.uk, or by calling 01323 483085.
