IT RANGES FROM DEEP, DARK WOODS TO BRIGHT OPEN SPACES, FROM THE POWERFUL, IMPRESSIVE COAST TO TRANQUIL MEADOWS AND FIELDS… SO IT’S LITTLE WONDER THAT WE ARE AN AREA THAT HAS SOME OF THE VERY BEST LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHERS LIVING RIGHT HERE. Once, the landscape of a painting was used just as background information – it hardly mattered what it contained since it was only there to make the main focus of the painting (the portrait’s subject) look more natural. background actually could have some artistic merit after all. Artists began to experiment, and eventually the subject was done away with altogether, painted over and discarded because yes, landscapes were actually rather pleasing. Things changed, however. As art began to be studied more, scholars determined that the Landscape photography stems from these same ideas.
