CHARITY
What about volunteers? How important
are they to The Starr Trust, and what sort
of things do they do?
Hugely important; we are always looking
for volunteers and are so grateful for their
help. Some of our volunteers come into the
office and support us with administrative or
technical skills, while others lend a hand at
our fundraising events, which could be taking
photos, serving food, being ushers - there’s
always something that needs doing. An hour;
a day a week; a month; or a year – whatever
time people can spare is a massive help to us.

Is there anything else that you would like
to tell us?
Back in January this year, along with Crest
Nicholson, The Starr Trust was awarded the
contract to redevelop the King Alfred site in
Hove. Our partners at Crest Nicholson will
deliver to the council a new leisure centre and
will deliver to The Starr Trust new offices to
relocate to as a new permanent home, plus
some incredible community facilities that we can
then use to support more young people and
engage with the much wider community across
the city. Going forward, we want to explore ways
in which not-for-profit organisations, community
groups and businesses can be involved in this
exciting new project. Our long-term goal is to
widen our reach and expand into more areas, so
that we can help as many people as possible.
