CHARITY JOIN THE ULTIMATE GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT WEST SUSSEX COMPANY, TECHNETIX, RAISE £27,400 FOR CHILDREN’S CHARITY Join the ultimate girls' night out with the Martlets Midnight Walk on Saturday June 11 and help to raise thousands of pounds for charity. Albourne-based company, Technetix, is pleased to announce a total fundraising figure for 2015 of £27,400; all raised for local children’s charity, Chestnut Tree House. A number of staff fundraising events were held throughout the year to help raise much-needed funds for the local charity’s ‘pay for a day’ scheme and will keep the charity running for a further four days. This totally fabulous and very pink event sees hundreds of ladies taking to the streets of Brighton and Hove, with many dressed in fantastic, glittery fancy dress, all determined to raise as much money as possible for Martlets Hospice. Chestnut Tree House provides care for children suffering from progressive, life-shortening conditions and also provides support to their families, both at the hospice and in the homes of families across East and West Sussex and southeast Hampshire. The money raised will allow nurses and staff to continue providing a fun, safe and nurturing environment to those in their care. Now in its tenth year, the Martlets Midnight Walk, which sets off from Brighton Racecourse, has three distances of 6, 13, or 20 miles, so it's suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Antonia Shepherd, from the hospice's fundraising team, said: "Get all the girls together and sign up for a brilliant, fun and lively night out. You don't have to be super fit to take part, just make sure you’re wearing sensible shoes!” Technetix has built a strong relationship with the charity over the years and employees are extremely passionate about raising money. Alongside fundraising activities, in April 2015 some Technetix staff also volunteered for the day, where they helped with general gardening duties and cleaning a pond. The Martlets Midnight Walk costs £16 to register and entrants receive a Midnight Walk T-shirt and a training plan, as well as a medal and a well-deserved breakfast at the finish. Anyone raising over £125 will be entered into a prize draw to win a gorgeous Pandora bracelet. Paul Broadhurst, chief executive officer at Technetix, said: “The dedicated team at Chestnut Tree House do amazing work for children and their families. In recent years, the ‘pay for a day’ scheme has been a great way for Technetix to give back, provide support, and make a difference to the local community.” To enter visit www.themartlets.org.uk/midnight2016, pick up an entry form at any Martlets shop, or call the fundraising team on 01273 747455.
