Ireland’s Call
// 5 May
Critically acclaimed
show Essence
of Ireland takes
on a new lease
of theatrical life
with Ireland's
Call, a new and
exciting musical
adaptation of the
show - direct from
Ireland. Inspired
by true events and
spanning three
decades, Ireland's
Call follows the
extraordinary journey of the strong-headed Sean Dempsey who, at the
end of WW2, leaves behind his childhood sweetheart, Cora, and his
beloved homeland, Ireland, in search of a better life in the Big Apple.
Can their love survive the Atlantic divide? Will Sean be able to resist
‘Ireland’s call’ as he embarks on an adventure full of danger, tragedy
and lost love? Only fate will tell…
Star Wars Toy Display // until 17 May
This new display, which sits in the museum’s Collectors Corner
and has been loaned by two of the museum staff, includes unusual
items, in particular figures, from the second Star Wars trilogy. These
demonstrate how merchandising developed between the two film
series, as the array of characters grew and increasingly diverse
options were explored.
The show features an exhilarating mix of original scores and wellknown songs including Galway Girl; Isle of Hope Isle Of Tears; I Loved
Her First; Tell Me Ma; and Irish Rover, together with an ensemble of
some of the most talented dancers in the world. Ireland's Call is a
powerful and explosive blend of energy, emotion and music, which
leaves audiences from around the world on an unforgettable high.
