FILMED IN SUSSEX cont.
and put the region firmly on the map as a film-friendly county. Our goal
is to be the first port of call for anybody thinking of filming in Sussex.
And with our twelfth project on the books we are already incredibly busy
connecting productions with prop owners, locations and talent based in
Sussex. We're already asking our suppliers to quote for production jobs,
which is testament to a successful working business model.
Does filmmaking in Sussex help the local economy?
The creative industries are one of the fastest growing sectors of the UK
economy. Recent figures show that creative industries are worth £84.1
billion a year to the UK. That's nearly £10 million an hour. Granted, much
of this is London-centric, but within Sussex there exists a very talented
pool of creatives who are contributing to the sector's success. In Brighton
alone, digital and creative businesses contribute as much as £1 billion to
the economy; that’s worth almost as much to the city as tourism.
Here at the film office we believe the industry thrives by making
connections. The response so far has been amazing and already we've
had some incredibly talented industry professionals join as suppliers. We
have on board photography studios, animation producers, production
companies, location caterers, kit hire, aerial drone filming experts, and
even an underwater filming specialist!
What does the West Sussex Film Office do?
The West Sussex Film Office has recently been launched to showcase
the amazing locations and talented professionals located within the
region. We're keen to make Sussex's creative industries even stronger
