Court Garden Vineyard // Ditchling
Sussex wine has been produced on this site since 2005, and in the last
decade the quality and taste of it has meant that Court Farm Vineyard
has won numerous awards. Along with the exceptional wines, the farm
offers homemade cakes, walks, and vineyard tours, meaning that this is
a full day out with an emphasis on Sussex and its produce. Wine tastings
are also available, and this includes a comparative tasting between the
famous Court Garden Sparkling Wine, and another well known wine –
Champagne!

Prince & Sons // Lewes
Prince & Sons prides itself on creating the ultimate in blended teas with
a distinct hint of Sussex to them. Over the past eight years, the tea
blenders here have worked out exactly how to make the perfect cuppa –
and now you can buy it to take home with you. Simon and Kate Prince’s
passion for tea is evident in the delicious blends that they have worked
hard to produce. Blends include chocolate cinnamon chai; lemongrass,
lime, and root ginger; and caramel vanilla rooibos, as well as more
traditional blends such as Earl Grey and English breakfast.

Sussex Gold // Partridge Green
Aptly named, Sussex Gold produces fine oils, sauces, dressings,
and mayonnaises, and supplies a number of local shops, pubs, and
restaurants with these fine products. The rapeseed used to make the oil
– which is the basis for everything created by Sussex Gold – is grown on
the owner’s very own farm, which keeps everything as local as possible,
and gives it an excellent provenance. But it’s not just the ingredients that
are from the farm; the cold pressing aand bottling takes place there too.
Products include thyme-infused rapeseed oil, stir fry sauce, spicy tomato
sauce, oak smoked rapeseed oil, and much more besides.

Wiston Estate // Washington
Perfectly situated on the chalk
slopes of the Sussex South Downs
since 2006, this traditional vineyard
includes chardonnay, pinot noir, and
pinot meunier varieties of grape.
In fact, the site is similar to the
world renowned Cote de Blancs in
Champagne when it comes to soil
types! Everything that is needed to
make great wine is grown on the 16acre estate or kept there – including
the 6-7 year old oak barrels that the
wine is kept in. Wine varieties include
Wiston Brut NV, Wiston Rose, and
Wiston Blanc de Blancs.
