NEWS ROSEMARY SHRAGER COOKS UP A TOWIE STORM IN TUNBRIDGE WELLS! Rosemary Shrager’s famous cookery school has put Tunbridge Wells on the reality TV map – after ex TOWIE star Sam Faiers visited the renowned chef’s Pantiles kitchen for her new ITV show. STAGECOACH LAUNCHES SMARTPHONE TICKETS The TV chef welcomed Sam and her sister Billie – who both rose to fame on the Essexbased show – for a day of cookery lessons for Sam’s hit ITVbe series The Mummy Diaries. Bus operator Stagecoach has launched mobile ticketing through its new smartphone app. Customers across the South East will benefit from the convenience of using the Stagecoach Bus app to instantly buy and download day tickets to their smartphone. The famous duo, along with Sam’s baby Paul in tow, were filmed being taught how to make a two-course meal for their other halves by Rosemary, before selling their lemon tarts in her Pantiles Patisserie. Payments via the app can be made by PayPal, debit or credit card. The move provides an additional payment option for customers alongside existing smart ticketing and cash payments. The Stagecoach Bus app was introduced last month and is available free of charge for Apple and Android mobile phones, offering a number of journey planning tools for customers in Kent and East Sussex. However Stagecoach will now also offer mobile ticketing to make it even easier for customers to buy and use their bus tickets. Rosemary – who runs courses for keen amateur chefs from gourmet to bakery to cookery for children – created a unique one-off lesson for the pair and described Sam and Billie as “model students”. Rosemary said: “It was a real pleasure to teach Sam and Billie and have them down with us at the cookery school in Tunbridge Wells. They really wanted to learn and they were like sponges – a pair of true model students. They were really keen to do a good job. I created a unique lesson plan for them and I did my favourite chicken and potato pie, which they loved and the girls then sold their lemon tarts in our café on the Pantiles, which sold really well. I loved teaching them and I know they wanted more when they left so I look forward to welcoming them back again soon." Stagecoach South East managing director, Philip Norwell said: “This is more good news for our customers. As well as existing payment methods, we’re now offering people the chance to download their bus ticket straight to their smartphone, using technology to deliver greater convenience for those travelling with us. “We know that time is precious to everyone. Our app also gives our customers reliable and detailed information about their bus services to help them plan their time. We’re continuing to invest in new ways to make travel easier for our customers as well as encouraging our politicians to take action to tackle the growing issue of road congestion to allow buses to flourish for the many customers who rely on them every day.” The show’s director Max Langton, who is a local resident, said: “I had worked with Rosemary on a TV show previously and when Sam said she wanted to learn how to cook, I thought of her Tunbridge Wells cookery school straight away! There was quite a bit of interest from the local residents as we were filming and it was a great success!” HIGH PRAISE FOR LOCAL DIVORCE AND SEPARATION SOLICITOR Jonathan da Costa, who leads the family team at Thanet and Canterbury solicitors Boys & Maughan, has been recognised for being a leader in his field in the Kent section of the latest edition of Chambers and Partners legal directory.
