EDUCATION
The North School
At The North School you will benefit from student-centred support systems established
to ensure that you derive maximum benefit from your time in the Sixth Form. We benefit
from a unique community structure which includes the Principal of Sixth Form, a dedicated
learning leader, pastoral support, a course manager and a dedicated careers advisor.
This team of educational professionals working on your behalf means there is always
someone you can talk to.
The curriculum is carefully planned each year to
ensure we tailor to and meet the needs of our
new students. We aim to deliver a rich programme
of academic and vocational courses that will
enable all students to move onto university if they
desire. In addition to or A-Level and BTEC routes
we also offer Level 2 pathways for students in
need of a foundation year to enable them to
obtain the entry requirements to progress onto
Level 3 study.
The North School Sixth Form achieves great
outcomes and continues to grow in size. This
summer saw a pleasing set of results with
students performing well in both academic and
vocational courses. Over 60% of our year 13
students successfully moved onto university this
year and the remaining students have moved
into employment or further training.
In addition to their academic studies, students
are also given the opportunity and encouraged
to take up enrichment activities across the school.

These can range from being part of the Senior
Student Leadership Team through to supporting
younger students with their homework, working
as a behaviour mentor or even supporting
students in lessons. There are also opportunities
for students to gain work experience in a range
of activities to equip them with the additional
skills and attributes they need for their applications
to university and employment.
